This past weekend, I finished a special gift for my good friend Amelia. I delivered it to her this evening over fru-fru martinis and yummy appetizers...it was the best Tuesday evening in a long time!
This accent strip of fabric is not in the pattern...Shea incorporated the detail in her Mail Sack bag and was nice enough to share the secret with me.
It's an easy modification that makes a big difference - let me know if you want to know the secret too.
The bag lining is my favorite print of all. I love the pale gray with the white Xs and dots...and the fun polka dots on the inside pocket and zippered pocket lining!
This is the second bag that I've made from this pattern and it won't be the last - you all should make one for yourselves!
On a different, but related issue...I'm thinking of offering my proof-reading services to Moda. Can you all find the typo in the pictures below? I found one in each...
And...just to be sure that they were typos, I googled them. After all, if they're not on Google, they're just not...and these weren't. Case closed.
Perhaps I'll call up Moda and offer proofreading services for fabric!
You totally should do that! I hate to see misspellings. (Wait, did I spell that right?) Anyway, love the bag and I want to know Shea's secret, too.

ReplyDeleteCUTE bags! Good idea to use the canvas, too! If by 'nice enough to share' you mean 'clicked 'forward' on the info that she got from Kathy Mack herself", then sure. I shared. Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that little detail. And I really like your choice for the lining and the pockets!
** had a comment posted and then found a typo. Could have *that* after you wrote about typos in the post, now could I? :)
And another typo in my comment on my comment. Sign #37 that I should call it a night. I hope you are laughing at me, because I sure am!
ReplyDeleteIf you're still laughing, then we're laughing together!
ReplyDeleteAnd...I think that a defensible case could be made that clicking "forward" constitutes sharing.
I have the fabric for another bag so I will take some pics and post the "secret" in the future.
Great bag! I love that fabric line as well. And I NEED to know the secret, too.
ReplyDeletei love the fabrics you chose! this bag would make me happy. springfiend? sequin? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Patty and Tammie! I'm going to "throw together" another bag for my SIL...I'll make sure to take pictures of the flange detail!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Anne!
ReplyDeleteViolet Craft here - thanks for letting me know about my pot holder's safe arrival.... and just so you know. This post just inspired me to go buy 9 of the prints from that Sweetwater collection. lol!
Thank you!
