First of all - I'd like to say "Thanks a million!" to Shea of Empty Bobbin Sewing Studio for giving me the opportunity to host this giveaway and for sending so many new friends my way! A big Thanks also to my new friend Cindy of Hyacinth Quilt Designs for blogging about my site and giveaway too. It's been great fun!
So...who won this fabulous prize???
I'll let you know in a moment, but first I have to share the process of selecting the winner. If you commented on my blog before midnight on May 31 you were eligible to be in the drawing. If you became a follower (or were already a follower) of my blog, you got a second entry. I know that some of my KC MQG friends already have this pattern, so I left them out of the mix as well - I hope you gals don't mind!
I wrote the names for all 19 entries on a piece of paper...
Folded 'em all up...
and taped the open edge because those flaps were annoying me!
After that, I counted to make sure I still had 19 (I didn't want anyone falling off onto the floor and missing out) and tossed 'em all into an empty jar. I let them sit on my desk for awhile to marinate...
Which reminds me...I used this same jar on Monday night to make marinated tomatoes. Here's the recipe...it is the perfect summer side dish. Try it...you will NOT be disappointed!
MARINATED TOMATOES:
3 Large Tomatoes (cut in 1/2" slices)
1/3 c. olive oil
1/4 c. red wine vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 clove garlic, crushed
1 Tbsp chopped fresh basil, or 1 tsp of dried basil
1 tsp chopped parsley
2 Tbsp chopped onion
Arrange sliced tomatoes in a large shallow dish; set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in a jar, cover tightly and shake vigorously. Pour over tomato slices. Cover and marinate in refrigerator for several hours. Yield: 6 servings
Now let's get back to the business at hand...
I'm a huge fan of Top Chef and of Project Runway. Being the "first" on either of those shows is never a good thing. NOBODY wants to be first - they all are gunning to be the last one left on the island! I decided to go with that logic. After all, if it's good enough for TC and PR, it's good enough for me!
I gave the jar a good mix, and started pulling out names...mixing it up between draws...until there were only two left...
and then there was one!
and...at long last...the winner is...
Sinta Renee!!! Hooray!!!
Thanks again to you all for playing along - I had a lot of fun! Sinta Renee, I will send you an e-mail to arrange for delivery of your fabulous new COVER UP Pattern by the amazing Shea of Empty Bobbin Sewing Studios!!!
Hope you all had fun too!
How cool that Sinta won! I just won a nice little package from her blog. What goes around comes around!
ReplyDeleteYippeee! That's me! I am so glad that your picking process allowed for the LAST name drawn to be the winner!!! I like that theory, and even more so now! Thank you so much! You know I'm going to make that up right away!
ReplyDeleteThe giveaway was a lot of fun...I figured that going with the last name drawn would keep the fun going a little longer.
ReplyDeleteAnd...I've edited my post so that you can actually READ the recipe for Marinated Tomatoes!
Thanks for the recipe, Mary Anne! I'll try it as soon as I can find some good tomatoes.
