Now that it's done, I wonder what I was afraid of? I think for me the biggest challenge in quilting is deciding on a quilting design. Once I know what I want to do, the rest is not so scary.
I'm really happy with the zig-zag pattern in the hat-band, the wavy lines in the dress and especially the loopy-swirly quilting in the background.
And...at our KC MQG Sewing Sunday a few days ago, as I was whining about making quilt labels, Jaime shared a little trick with us. I used the alphabet stitches from my machine to sew my name and date directly on the binding before I attached it to my quilt. It's a little crooked, but I still think it looks pretty spiffy!
I've been on a roll lately...productive days at work and productive nights sewing. Busy hands are happy hands!
Next time...Potholders!!!
Cute! Love that tip for stitching your name on the binding!
ReplyDeleteIt's even more awesome in person! Love it, Mary Anne.
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest quilt. Might have to make one for next year. It would take me that long too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I love the ladder stitch too.
