Progress Report

What a busy week it's been!  On Tuesday, I completed by Robert Kaufman Kona Solids challenge in plenty of time for the KC MQG meeting on Thursday night.

I chose the "Bright" charm pack for my challenge quilt. I can't tell you how many ideas, drawings, sketches, etc...I went through before I finally decided to get moving!  I wanted to make something small so I ended up going with a table runner.  I separated out the cool colors in the pack from the warm colors and figured out a symmetrical arrangement, balancing the colors across the front of the quilt.  Asymmetry and imbalance?  I'm not quite ready to go there!

Thursday night's meeting was AWESOME!  We had 91 folks in attendance, over 20 were guests who had learned about our guild thanks to a feature article in the Feb 20th KC Star.  Nikki did a great job taking pics of all the quilts...see them here!

So now what?  I have a couple of "deadline" quilts looming on the horizon, so I have been a busy bee working on those.  First off is another of Cherri House's "Baby I Do" for my neighbor's little baby boy...due to arrive in about 12 days!  Right now I'm thinking about quilt designs.

and...it just wouldn't be fair for baby's older sister to go empty-handed so I have started a pink/yellow/orange Nine-Patch Lattice from Elizabeth Hartman.

That ought to do it for now!  I'll be sure to post more progress pics in the future.  Have a great week and I'll check in with you later!
