"No Prints Allowed" - Robert Kaufman Challenge!

The KCMQG announced a Robert Kaufman "No Prints Allowed" challenge at the December meeting. Each participating member was provided with a charm pack of Kona Solids.

The first challenge for me was just deciding which of five color ways to work with! I opted for the Bright charm pack with the intent of ending the challenge with a finished baby quilt.

Participants are required to use EVERY color in the charm pack in their quilt.
Participants can slice and dice charm packs how they wish - and mix them in with other solid colors too.
The key here is SOLIDS ONLY!  NO PRINTS ALLOWED!

The second challenge?  Definitely, the quilt design.  After poring through quilt books and blogs...and staring at colorful squares on my design wall, I've had several ideas.  All were discarded for one reason or another.

Today I am happy (i.e., "relieved") to announce that I have "THE ONE" in mind!  No longer will this be a baby quilt, rather, this baby will hang in my sewing room.  My hope is that it will be a constant reminder of the rewards gained by extending one's boundaries.

This weekend marked the first anniversary of the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild. In honor of the event, all of the officers sent a "Love Letter" to the guild - you can read them on each of their blogs. Each meeting is an inspiration-fest and I head home with my brain in creative overdrive. Thanks to these wonderful women for sharing their talent, their passion and their time!

Share the Love....check out the blogs of our awesome guild officers here...

I'm off to feed the dog...and me...and then a quiet evening of stitching!
